Ford, Council Member <br /> SUBJECT: Proposed Amendments to Resolution 16 -11; To Authorize the Acceptance of a <br /> Monetary Donation of $1,600 for the Purchase of Tactical Bike Patrol Equipment <br /> for the Hawai`i County Police Department <br /> For your consideration, please find attached proposed amendments to Resolution No. 16 -11. The <br /> proposed amendments, illustrated via Ramseyer format with respect to the contents of Resolution <br /> No. 16 -11, read as follows: <br /> 1. The third WHEREAS clause is amended to read: <br /> "WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawai'i County Charter provides that <br /> the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property, <br /> and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2 -162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that <br /> any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within <br /> the capitalization procedures of the department of finance may be accepted by <br /> resolution approved by the council; and" <br /> 2. The fourth WHEREAS clause is amended to read: <br /> "WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department recommends the acceptance of this <br /> donation[:]; now, therefore," <br /> 3. The enacting clause is amended to read: <br /> "[ ,] BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the <br /> Hawai`i County Charter, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2 -162 (a) of the <br /> Hawaii County Code, the Council of the County of Hawai'i accepts this donation." ,, <br /> Comm.
