REPORT OF THE <br />COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC WORKS AND <br />PARKS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE <br />DATE: January 4, 2011 Re: Comm. No. 8, reports as follows: <br />Communication No. 8 from Mayor William P. Kenoi dated November 15, 2010, requests a <br />favorable recommendation for the nomination of Joseph Nimori to the Hawaii County Veterans <br />Advisory Committee. Mr. Nomori is the 1 Vice President of the Korean War Veterans <br />Association, Chapter 279. He is also a member of the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery <br />Development and Expansion Association (WHVCDEA). Pursuant to Section 15 -61, Hawaii <br />County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), and in conjunction with Hawaii Revised <br />Statutes, Section 363 -5, members of the Veterans Advisory Committee are appointed by the <br />Mayor and confirmed by the County Council. If confirmed, Mr. Nomori will serve a term to <br />expire on December 31, 2015, replacing Robert Welter. <br />Communication No.8.1, from Nathalie Santos was presented to your committee, to inform <br />members that Mr. Nimori is currently on the mainland and unable to attend this meeting.
