COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. 16 11 <br />(DRAFT 2) <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY DONATION OF <br />$1,600 FOR THE PURCHASE OF TACTICAL BIKE PATROL EQUIPMENT FOR THE <br />HAWAI'I COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />WHEREAS, Target is donating $1,600 to the Kona Community Policing Section of <br />the Hawai'i County Police Department for the purchase of tactical bike patrol equipment; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, this grant will allow the police officers of the Kona Community Policing <br />Section to expand their bike patrol unit by providing necessary equipment; and <br />WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawai'i County Charter provides that <br />the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property, <br />and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2 -162 (a) of the Hawai'i County Code states that any gifts <br />or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the capitalization <br />procedures of the department of finance may be accepted by resolution approved by the <br />council; and <br />WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department recommends the acceptance of <br />this donation; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in <br />accordance with Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawai'i County Charter, and Chapter 2, <br />Article 30, Section 2 -162 (a) of the Hawai'i County Code, the Council of the County of <br />Hawaii accepts this donation. <br />
