No. 1002 /13111 No. 325 <br />PLACE: Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa <br />78 -128 `Ehukai Street (2008 -2010 ) <br />Kailua -Kona, HI <br />TIME: 11:26 a.m. <br />Council Chair and Members <br />Hawaii County Council <br />Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 325, reports as follows: <br />Bill No. 324, transmitted by Director of Finance Nancy Crawford, via Communication No. 1001, dated <br />November 1, 2010, amends Ordinance No. 10 -60, as amended, the Capital Budget, ending June 30, 2011 <br />by adding the following project: <br />PARKS AND RECREATION: <br />Kikila - Keokea New Park Development <br />(110.599.5590.65) <br />$ 100,000 <br />Funds for this appropriation increase shall be provided from <br />General Obligation Bonds, Capital Projects Fund — <br />Fund Balance and /or Other Sources $ 100,000 <br />Parks and Recreation Park Planner James Komata and Deputy Director Clayton Honma appeared before <br />Your Committee and provided detailed information of this project. The project initially proposes to <br />establish water service to the site via the County's water system, develop basic infrastructure (driveway, <br />parking area, etc.), and provide basic park landscaping materials (fill, soil, plants, etc.) and basic park <br />amenities to support community use. Issac K. Hale and `Ahalanui Beach Parks are the nearest County <br />parks in this area, but lack the infrastructure and amenities commonly associated with neighborhood <br />parks. Mr. Honma added that the residents of the Kikala- Keokea subdivision is supportive and will <br />partner with the County to develop this new public park in the Kalapana area.
