COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII ORDINANCE NO. 5 BILL NO. 317 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24 OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: SECTION 1. Chapter 24, article 8, division 1, section 24 -190, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), is amended to read as follows: Section 24 -190. Picking up or discharging passengers. (a) Except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic, or in compliance with law or the directions of a police officer or official traffic - control device, no person shall stand or park a vehicle, whether occupied or not, except momentarily to pick up or discharge a passenger or passengers: (1) In front of or within four feet of a public or private driveway or within a distance up to seventy -five feet of a public or private driveway when appropriate signs or markings are installed; (2) Within fifteen feet of a fire hydrant; (3) [Within seventy thirty feet distan of er- esswalk within to five feet of a efesswalk when appr-opr-iate signs e m arkin gs n o i nstalled; ] Within thirty feet on both the approach and departure side of a crosswalk on a two -way street; within thirty feet on the approach side only of a crosswalk on a one -way street; or within a distance up to seventy -five feet of a crosswalk when appropriate signs or markings are installed: (4) Within thirty feet of an intersection or within a distance up to seventy -five feet of an intersection when appropriate signs or markings are installed;
