COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />ORDINANCE NO. 5 <br />BILL NO. 317 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24 OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 <br />(2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br />SECTION 1. Chapter 24, article 8, division 1, section 24 -190, of the Hawaii County <br />Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), is amended to read as follows: <br />Section 24 -190. Picking up or discharging passengers. <br />(a) Except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic, or in <br />compliance with law or the directions of a police officer or official <br />traffic - control device, no person shall stand or park a vehicle, whether <br />occupied or not, except momentarily to pick up or discharge a passenger <br />or passengers: <br />(1) In front of or within four feet of a public or private driveway or <br />within a distance up to seventy -five feet of a public or private <br />driveway when appropriate signs or markings are installed; <br />(2) Within fifteen feet of a fire hydrant; <br />(3) [Within <br />seventy <br />thirty feet distan <br />of er- esswalk within to <br />five feet of a efesswalk when appr-opr-iate signs e <br />m arkin gs <br />n o i nstalled; ] <br />Within thirty feet on both the approach and departure side of a <br />crosswalk on a two -way street; within thirty feet on the approach <br />side only of a crosswalk on a one -way street; or within a distance <br />up to seventy -five feet of a crosswalk when appropriate signs or <br />markings are installed: <br />(4) Within thirty feet of an intersection or within a distance up to <br />seventy -five feet of an intersection when appropriate signs or <br />markings are installed; <br />
