COUNTY OF HAWAI' I <br />STATE OF HAWAT I <br />RESOLUTION NO. 32 ILI <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY DONATION OF <br />$500 TO THE HAWAII COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR THE PURCHASE OF <br />MATERIALS TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC AGAINST METHAMPHETAMINE DRUGS <br />WHEREAS, The Hawaii Police Athletic Foundation is donating $500 to the Hawai'i <br />County Police Department to be used to educate the public on the prevention of <br />methamphetamine use; and <br />WHEREAS, this grant will allow the Hawai'i County Police Department to purchase <br />materials such as brochures and pamphlets for the specified public education project; and <br />WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawai'i County Charter provides that the <br />Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other <br />personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate and Chapter 2, Article 30, <br />Section 2 -162 (b) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts or donations of money, <br />securities, or personal property not covered by the capitalization procedures (of the <br />Department of Finance) shall be submitted to the Council by letter for its approval, we request <br />the Council's approval of the following donation; and <br />WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Department of Finance has requested that cash <br />donations of any amount be recorded and accepted through the formal Resolution process; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Hawai'i County Police Department recommends the acceptance of <br />this donation. <br />
