COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />JM�Y%'F M1�r <br />f: :f <br />�tE oP•N'� <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />35 I1 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF HAWAII TO ENTER INTO A <br />MULTI-YEAR CONTRACT FOR ELECTRONIC AND PRINTED LEGAL RESEARCH <br />FOR THE OFFICE OF THE CORPORATION. <br />WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the Hawaii County Charter requires that any <br />contract, lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a <br />later fiscal year or more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and <br />WHEREAS, the County wishes to enter into a multi-year contract with West, a <br />Thomson Reuter business, for electronic and printed legal research or the Office of the <br />Corporation Counsel; and <br />WHEREAS, the Office of the Corporation Counsel has been able to negotiate a <br />favorable rate for a multi-year contract which has resulted in further savings to the County-, <br />and <br />WHEREAS, this legal researching capability has been used to assist all County <br />departments, as well as the Council staff, and is a requirement in today's legal environment. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby authorizes the Mayor to enter into a <br />multi-year contract with West, a Thomson Reuter business, to provide electronic and <br />printed legal research services for the Office of the Corporation Counsel. <br />
