No. 115, reports as follows:
Communication No. 115, from Mayor Billy Kenoi, dated February 24, 2011, requests
confirmation of the appointment of Brandi K. Beaudet to the Hawai`i County Leeward Planning
Commission. Mr. Beaudet is a life -long resident of Hawai`i and is presently the Land Resource
Manager of Parker Ranch, Inc., where he has been employed since the year 2000.
Mr. Beaudet presently serves in an "At Large" position on the Leeward Planning Commission.
Since his original term was for two years (expiring on April 1, 2011), he is eligible for
reappointment for an additional three years. If confirmed, he will serve a term to end on
December 31, 2014.
Mr. Beaudet was in attendance at the Waimea Council Office.
Committee Chairman Hoffmann asked Mr. Beaudet to say a few words.
Mr. Beaudet thanked the council for the opportunity and stated he was looking forward to serve
on the commission.
Councilperson Pilago thanked Mr. Beaudet for his good service and stated he will support his
nomination.
Councilperson Ford had no objection to the applicant but has concerns with the balance on the
commission. She is concerned that there are too many development related members on the
commission. She stated the Mayor's office needs to do a better job in the nomination selection
process to ensure all interests are represented.
PC Report No. 13
