No. 52 -11 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 3:30 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 52 -11, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 52 -11, transmitted by Director of Finance Nancy Crawford via <br /> Communication No. 147, dated March 22, 2011, authorizes the acceptance of a donation of a <br /> new J.B. Knowles Inc. CHOPPER SPOTTERS; a unique, patented machine used to handle <br /> helicopters on the pavement, to the Hawaii Fire Department. This equipment, valued at <br /> $11,149, will be used to provide a safer means to deploy a helicopter designated as Chopper 1 <br /> from the hanger when personnel are limited. <br /> Fire Chief Darryl Oliveira was present at the meeting and described the apparatus when <br /> questioned by Your Committee. <br /> Pursuant to Article XIIL Section 13 -12, Hawai'i County Charter the Council, on behalf of the <br /> County, may accept gifts or donations of money. <br /> A letter of appreciation will be sent to donor Daniel Sayre Memorial Foundation c/o Ms. Laura <br /> Mallery- Sayre, P.O.
