No. 133 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 3:00 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation, to which was referred <br /> Communication No. 133, reports as follows: <br /> Communication No. 133, from Mayor William P. Kenoi, dated March 14, 2011, requests <br /> confirmation of the reappointment of Emile W. Wery to the Hawai`i County Veterans <br /> Advisory Commission. <br /> Mr. Wery is a Korean War Veteran. He also served in the Hawai`i Army National Guard from <br /> 1991 to 2000. His further service includes being Commander and Vice Commander of the <br /> Military Order of the Purple Heart. <br /> Pursuant to Section 15 -61, Hawai`i County Code, there shall be a Veterans Advisory Committee <br /> composed of 16 members, appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the County Council. <br /> Clayton Honma, Deputy Director of the Department of Parks and Recreation was present and <br /> spoke in support of Mr. Wery's reappointment and stated that his new term will expire on <br /> December 31, 2015. <br /> Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation is in accord with the purpose and <br /> intent of Communication No. 133, and recommends confirmation of the reappointment of <br /> Emile W.
