J �YY Os N ��¢ f , <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII •�'' "- ' / :• STATE OF HAWAII <br /> • • T ��OF�M��- ••I <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 72 11 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM THE <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED <br /> FUND ACCOUNT FOR SECURITY GUARDS AT THE PAHOA NEIGHBORHOOD <br /> FACILITY AND AT ISAAC KEPO`OKALANI HALE BEACH PARK. <br /> WHEREAS, Article 36, Section 2 -177 of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, <br /> as amended), established the Geothermal Relocation and Community Benefits Program; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article 36, Section 2 -179 of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, <br /> as amended), created the Geothermal Relocation and Community Benefits Fund; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article 36, Section 2- 181(5) of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2005 <br /> Edition, as amended), allows for expenditures from the Geothermal Relocation and Community <br /> Benefits Fund for "public purposes" including but not limited to; road improvements, water <br /> infrastructure, land acquisition, parks and recreational facility needs, civil defense, and mass <br /> transit improvements; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article 36, Section 2- 181(5)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2005 <br /> Edition, as amended), limits expenditures from the Geothermal Relocation and Community <br /> Benefits Fund to Lower Puna, which is defined as extending from Hawaiian Paradise Park <br /> subdivision to Kalapana and including Orchidland Estates, Ainaloa, Hawaiian Beaches, <br /> Hawaiian Shores, Kapoho, Pahoa, Nanawale, Leilani Estates, and other communities proximate <br /> to Pahoa; and <br /> WHEREAS, security at the Pahoa Neighborhood Facility and at Isaac Kepo`okalani <br /> Hale Beach Park has decreased the incidents of criminality and property damage at both <br /> locations and has made our community safer and more enjoyable by all; and <br /> WHEREAS, the contract for security guards at Isaac Kepo`okalani Hale Beach Park will <br /> end on July 31, 2011, and the contract for security guards at the Pahoa Neighborhood Facility <br /> will end on November 30, 2011; and <br /> WHEREAS, the cost for a one -year contract for security guards at: 1) Isaac <br /> Kepo`okalani Hale Beach Park will be $64,000; and 2) at the Pahoa Neighborhood Facility will <br /> be $60,000; now, therefore, <br />
