REPORT OF THE <br /> COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br /> DATE: May 16, 2011 Re: Comm. 202 / /Res. 75 -11 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 9:00 a.m.. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 75 -11, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 75 -11, transmitted by Director of Finance Nancy Crawford via <br /> Communication No. 202, dated May 4, 2011, authorizes the acceptance of a donation of a Sports <br /> Utility Vehicle (SUV), valued at $22,900.74 from the United States Marshals Service for use in <br /> joint law enforcement operations. This donation is being made pursuant to an existing <br /> memorandum of understanding between the Hawai`i County Police Department and the United <br /> States Marshals Service. <br /> Police Department Assistant Chief Marshall Kanehailua appeared before Your Committee. Mr. <br /> Kanehailua stated that joint law enforcement operations occur twice a year.
