Approval of an Appropriation Ordinance for the <br /> 2011 Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Program <br /> The State Department of Labor and Industrial Relations <br /> (DLIR) notified the Office of Housing and Community <br /> Development (OHCD) on May 5, 2011, that the County <br /> would receive an estimated amount of $1,451,851.00 for <br /> its Program Year (PY) 2011 WIA Title I funding <br /> allocation. The estimated funding allocations for the <br /> WIA Programs are: <br /> Administrative Pool Funds: $ 145,183.00 <br /> Adult Program Activity Funds: 460,141.00 <br /> Dislocated Worker Prgm. Activity Funds: 408,634.00 <br /> Youth Program Activity Funds: 437,896.00 <br /> Total Funds: $ 1,451,854.00 <br /> The WIA Title I Program requires that the Hawa i i <br /> County Workforce Investment Board (HCWIB) approve the <br /> County's WIA 2011 -12 Annual Plan. The OHCD <br /> anticipates DLIR approval of the WIA 2011 -12 Annual <br /> Plan before June 30, 2011. <br /> In anticipation of the DLIR's approval and in order to <br /> administer the WIA programs beginning July 1, 2011, <br /> the OHCD will need an appropriation ordinance to <br /> expend the PY 2011 -12 funds. <br /> No County General Funds are involved. The ordinance <br /> sets up the proper accounts to receive and expend the <br /> WIA funds. <br /> 2061nhp <br />
