PPP FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS AND <br /> PARKS AND RECREATION <br /> COMMITTEEJ UNE 14, <br /> WHY ARE WE ADOPTING A CODE <br /> THAT IS ALREADY SUPERSEDED? <br /> The State Building Code HAR, Title 3, Chapter 180, Subchapter 2, determines <br /> the code cycle that we should be enforcing. Section 3- 180 -46 states that <br /> the effective date of this Electrical section is April 16, 2010, which refers to <br /> the 2008 National Electric Code (NEC). The 2011 NEC will be available <br /> starting January 2011 and should be adopted by the State Building Code <br /> Council in the near future. <br /> 5/31/2011 <br /> ANSWERS TO GENERAL QUESTIONS <br /> • As built drawings require the architect or engineers stamp <br /> • Designated flood zones by county, state, or federal agencies must adhere <br /> to chapter 27, Floodplain Management Ordinance. Plans submitted will <br /> show designated flood zones <br /> • Photovoltaic systems for residential and non - residential installations shall <br /> require a building permit. Electrical permits required for structures less than <br /> 6' -0" <br /> • A Separate electrical permit shall be obtained for each building permit. <br /> • Temporary permanent electrical power during construction is now the <br /> responsibility of HELCO. <br /> 5/31/2011 <br />
