REPORT OF THE <br /> COMMITTEE ON HUMAN SERVICES, SOCIAL SERVICES, AND PUBLIC SAFETY <br /> DATE: May 31, 2011 Re: Comm. 209 /Resolution 78 -11 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 10:12 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Human Services, Social Services, and Public Safety, to which was referred <br /> Resolution 78 -11, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution 78 -11, transmitted by Council Member Brenda Ford, via Communication No. 209, <br /> dated May 18, 2011, directing the Chief of Police of the Hawai`i County Police Department to <br /> equip every Officer with a portable radio and individual charger and establish a "take home" <br /> policy and appropriate rules and regulations for the issuance, maintenance, supply and repair of <br /> such equipment. <br /> Zachary Fernando appeared and read testimony from John Stewart, SHOPO- Hawai`i Chapter <br /> Chairman, is in full support.
