S. <br /> Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services to improve the Big <br /> Island Drug Court's efforts to more effectively intervene and engage methamphetamine <br /> offenders in a timely manner. Pursuant to HRS Chapter 307, the County wishes to apply <br /> funds still available under this grant to contract the services of the Research Corporation <br /> of the University of Hawaii (RCUH), Hilo, to develop a Drug Abuse Monitoring and <br /> Assessment System. <br /> Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with RCUH in <br /> order to develop this system. <br /> Because the COPS grant is set to end on August 31, 2011, the Office of the Prosecuting <br /> Attorney is requesting a waiver from the Finance Committee and to have this resolution <br /> placed on the agenda of the next Council meeting scheduled for July 7, 2011. <br /> If there.are any questions, please do not hesitate to call Nancy Kelly from the Office of the <br /> Prosecuting Attorney, at 961 -8315. <br /> Nancy rawford <br /> Director of Finance <br /> Enc. <br /> cc: Prosecutors Comm.
