PIPo
C AM, 11,23
Aloha e Brittany, April 15, 2011 RS, (DO- '
I am not able to attend the Planning Committee meeting rfekt` Tuesday,
April 19, 2011 therefore this communication. Mahalo nui for your support of our
Ka'u community and for asking me to speak toward your resolution asking the
County Council to act upon delaying General Plan amendments and rezoning
applications until the Ka'u CDP is adopted or December 31, 2012, whichever
comes first.
From the very beginning, our Ka'u CDP process has stressed the
importance of the community's values, vision and objectives and this has been
achieved through high levels of diverse community participation which in turn has
given clear guidance for the planners in this process. Our steering committee
members are very representative, and active and has supported the County's
efforts to make sure that Ka'u gets the best CDP possible. Though we are
experiencing an unfortunate delay at this time, we feel confident that the end
result will be a better CDP. Therefore, there is no objection to your resolution, in
fact it is important that there is not significant land use change in the Ka'u district
until the CDP process is done.
'0 wau n6 me ka ha'aha'a,
Leina'ala B.
