20 April, 2011 <br /> Testimony from Daniel Taylor, Chair, PCDP Action Committee <br /> For the County Council <br /> Subject: Support for Planning Director's Amendments to the PCDP, Bills 35, 36, 37 <br /> We thank County Council for their interest in activities of the Puna Community Development Plan and <br /> for attention to the Action Committee. <br /> Members of the Action Committee had considered the Bills noted here at one or two of our previous <br /> meetings, and fully support the Planning Director's decision to amend the PCDP. We learned that some <br /> Council members asked why a representative from the Action Committee didn't speak to you in support <br /> of the Planning Director's decision. We didn't think it would be necessary to do so, and apologize if it <br /> appears to you that we take Council or Planning Director for granted. We do not. Indeed we wish to <br /> keep Council informed of our progress and activities, and we desire to work closely with Council. <br /> We will soon present to you an annual report of progress of the PCDP, and we will present to the <br /> Planning Director a critical report of our work as a committee. We are breaking new ground as a <br /> committee who represents the residents of communities in Puna District. We are pleased to be part of <br /> the implementation of a community- driven long range community development plan, and we hope you <br /> will be pleased with the work we are doing.
