Ntv.os py� <br /> ' sip . <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII " • s : • STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 101 11 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN <br /> AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF <br /> TRANSPORTATION, PURSUANT TO HRS 46 -7, FOR A UNITED STATES <br /> DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION EXTRICATION TRAINING GRANT FOR THE <br /> HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation has provided a grant, <br /> titled Hawai`i Fire Department Extrication Training and funded by the U. S. Department of <br /> Transportation, to the County of Hawaii; and <br /> WHEREAS, these funds will be used to allow the Hawaii Fire Department to utilize <br /> nationally recognized trainers to instruct fire department personnel in the most up to date <br /> techniques of vehicle extrication; and <br /> WHEREAS, the instruction will also enable the department to implement a "train the <br /> trainer" program; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46 -7, requires that county departments <br /> obtain the consent of the Council to enter into agreements with the federal or state governments <br /> respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend, <br /> and receive any funds or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken <br /> pursuant to those powers; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, in accordance <br /> with section 46 -7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, that the Mayor of the County of Hawaii is <br /> authorized to execute, on behalf of the County, an agreement and related documents with the <br /> State of Hawaii Department of Transportation, to enable the Hawai'i Fire Department to <br /> implement the extrication training as described in the Hawaii Fire Department's Grant <br /> Agreement, attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference as Exhibit "A ". <br />
