No. 262/Bill No. 67 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 1:35 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 67, reports as follows: <br /> Bill 67, transmitted jointly with Resolution 101-11, by Finance Director Nancy Crawford via <br /> Communication No. 262, dated July 6, 2011, amends Ordinance No. 11-59, as amended, the <br /> Operating Budget, ending June 30, 2012. The amendment is as follows: <br /> Account No.: Source: <br /> 3308.76 Federal Grants -US DOT Extrication Training Grants General $24,000 <br /> Account No.: Source: <br /> 010.221.5288.18 US DOT Extrication Training Grants General $24,000 <br /> The State of Hawai`i Department of Transportation has authorized a $ 24,000 Fire Extrication <br /> Training to the County of Hawaii. These funds will be used to allow the Hawai`i Fire <br /> Department to utilize nationally recognized trainers to instruct Fire Department personnel in the <br /> most up to date techniques of vehicle extrication, and also enable the departments to implement a <br /> "train the trainer" program. <br /> Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawai`i Revised Statutes, County Departments must obtain the consent <br /> of the Council to enter into agreements with the federal or state governments respecting action to <br /> be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend and receive any funds <br /> or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those <br /> powers. <br /> FC Report No. 81 <br />
