COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. 143 11 <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY DONATION OF <br />$750 TO THE HAWAII POLICE DEPARTMENT TO BE USED TOWARDS TRAINING AND <br />TRANSPORTATION COSTS OF A CANINE TRAINER <br />WHEREAS, the Children's Justice Grant Task Force of East Hawaii is donating $750 <br />to the Hawaii Police Department; and <br />WHEREAS, these funds will be used to cover training and transportation costs <br />associated with bringing a canine trainer to Hilo to work with a dog and handler; and <br />WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the <br />Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other <br />personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, <br />Section 2 -162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts or donations of money, <br />securities, or personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of the <br />Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Department of Finance has requested that cash <br />donations of any amount be recorded and accepted through the formal Resolution process; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Hawaii Police Department recommends the acceptance of this <br />donation; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in <br />accordance with Article XIII, Section 13 -12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and Chapter 2, <br />Article 30, Section 2- 162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the County of Hawaii <br />accepts this donation. <br />
