III. PURPOSE OF CONFERENCE The County of Hawaii and the Hawaii District Health Office mutually agree that these funds will be used to provide a 3 -day training which will include a 1 -day Community Training and 2 -days of focused technical assistance to Coalition members; in addition, a 1 -day Coalition Post - Conference Meeting for Community Action Planning as outlined in the following: • 1 -day Community Training for 6 hours. Ating Bahay to organize a community training on "Organizing a Community -Based Response to Domestic Violence: the Filipino Experience ". • 2 -days (4hours /day) Technical Assistance, pre & post, training for members of the Coalition. Technical Assistance will provide the Coalition skills & tools on how to organize community -based strategies to transform social awareness into social change with the goal of mobilizing the community to end violence in the home, specifically addressing women, children and their families. • 1 -day Coalition Session to chart the course of action for the Ating Bahay Coalition. Purpose will be to engage with interested members and begin planning on how to implement strategies identified from the conference training. This will occur within 3 months of the Community Training event. Technical Assistance will be provided by Leni Marin. Keynote speaker for the Community Training and technical assistance training will be provided by Leni Marin, Vice President, Futures Without Violence (formerly Family Violence Prevention Fund) and Jenn Rose, Gender Equity Specialist, UHM Office of the Chancellor. IV. RESPONSIBILITIES County of Hawaii agrees to: 1. Assist the Ating Bahay Coalition to organize and coordinate a 1 -day Community Training and a 2 -day Pre & Post Conference Technical Assistance training for the Coalition for a total of 3 days. 2. Assist the Ating Bahay Coalition to organize and coordinate a post training session after the conference to chart the course of community action. 3. Collaborate with local communities /agencies /interested members on strategies /activities in the prevention of domestic violence for all families.
