III. PURPOSE OF CONFERENCE <br />The County of Hawaii and the Hawaii District Health Office mutually agree that these funds will <br />be used to provide a 3 -day training which will include a 1 -day Community Training and 2 -days <br />of focused technical assistance to Coalition members; in addition, a 1 -day Coalition Post - <br />Conference Meeting for Community Action Planning as outlined in the following: <br />• 1 -day Community Training for 6 hours. Ating Bahay to organize a community <br />training on "Organizing a Community -Based Response to Domestic Violence: <br />the Filipino Experience ". <br />• 2 -days (4hours /day) Technical Assistance, pre & post, training for members <br />of the Coalition. Technical Assistance will provide the Coalition skills & tools <br />on how to organize community -based strategies to transform social <br />awareness into social change with the goal of mobilizing the community to <br />end violence in the home, specifically addressing women, children and their <br />families. <br />• 1 -day Coalition Session to chart the course of action for the Ating Bahay <br />Coalition. Purpose will be to engage with interested members and begin <br />planning on how to implement strategies identified from the conference <br />training. This will occur within 3 months of the Community Training event. <br />Technical Assistance will be provided by Leni Marin. <br />Keynote speaker for the Community Training and technical assistance training will be provided <br />by Leni Marin, Vice President, Futures Without Violence (formerly Family Violence Prevention <br />Fund) and Jenn Rose, Gender Equity Specialist, UHM Office of the Chancellor. <br />IV. RESPONSIBILITIES <br />County of Hawaii agrees to: <br />1. Assist the Ating Bahay Coalition to organize and coordinate a 1 -day Community Training <br />and a 2 -day Pre & Post Conference Technical Assistance training for the Coalition for a <br />total of 3 days. <br />2. Assist the Ating Bahay Coalition to organize and coordinate a post training session after <br />the conference to chart the course of community action. <br />3. Collaborate with local communities /agencies /interested members on <br />strategies /activities in the prevention of domestic violence for all families. <br />
