No. 376/Bill No. 106 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 106, reports as follows: <br />Bill 106, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford via Communication No. 376, dated <br />September 22, 2011, amends Ordinance No. 11 -59, as amended, the Operating Budget, ending <br />June 30, 2012. The amendment is as follows: <br />From: <br />3302.03 Federal Grants — Speed Enforcement Grant General $19,050 <br />To: <br />010.201.5219.44 Speed Enforcement General $19,050 <br />The State of Hawaii Department of Transportation Public Affairs — Safe Community Program is <br />providing an additional funding of $19,050 to the Hawai `i County Police Department's Speed <br />Enforcement program. The funds will be used to purchase one (1) on -site 350 Radar Trailer, one <br />(1) Dell computer, and two (2) Stalker Brand Radar Speed units. This will increase the total <br />appropriation for this fiscal year from $79,000 to $98,050. <br />The bill amends the Operating Budget by appropriating the additional funds into the Speed <br />Enforcement program account. <br />Pursuant to Section 46 -7, Hawai`i Revised Statutes, County Departments must obtain the consent <br />of the Council to enter into agreements with the federal or state governments respecting action to <br />be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend and receive any funds <br />or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those <br />powers. <br />Sergeant Robert Pauole, Traffic Services section in Hilo appeared before Your Committee. <br />Sergeant Pauole commented that Community Police officers take these trailers to locations with <br />FC Report No. 125 <br />
