No. 432 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication 432, reports as follows: <br />Communication 432, transmitted by Mayor William P. Kenoi, dated October 13, 2011, <br />nominates Brian J. De Lima to the County of Hawai`i Salary Commission: <br />Mr. De Lima is a lifelong resident of Hawaii. He is an attorney at Crudele & De Lima, <br />Attorneys at Law. He is also the Big Island Representative to the Board of Education. From <br />1990 to 1996, Mr. De Lima was a member and former chair of the Hawaii County Council, and <br />from 1984 to 1996 he served on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club. <br />Mr. De Lima states that he is a Democrat. If confirmed, he will serve a term to end on <br />December 31, 2015, replacing Newton Inouye whose term expired on December 31, 2010. <br />Pursuant to Section 13 -28, Hawaii County Charter, there shall be a salary commission, <br />consisting of nine members, appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the County Council. <br />Vice Chair Dominic Yagong resumes chair of the Finance committee. <br />Written communication was received from Mr. De Lima stating the reason of his absence from <br />today's committee meeting.
