No. 447/Bill No.135 Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation, to which was referred Bill No. 135, reports as follows: Bill No. 135, from Public Works Director Warren W. H. Lee, transmitted via Communication No. 447, dated October 28, 2011, amends Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 5 (Parking), Section 24 -280, Schedule 28 (No parking at anytime), subsection (c) (South Hilo), paragraph 86, to read as follows: (86) Kinoole Street, EAST (makai) side, from a point four hundred thirty one NINETY - FIVE feet southeast NORTH (HAMAKUA) of Haili MAMO Street and extending one-hundred-feet to Mamo Street This amendment was generated as a part of an effort to increase parking in the Downtown Hilo area. Councilmember Ikeda asked Ron Thiel Traffic Division Chief of the Department of Public Works to check on the wording of the amendment because it didn't appear to make sense. Councilmember Yagong commented that when read in its entirety, the language does make sense. Ron Thiel agreed to check and make any necessary corrections prior to its first reading at Council.
