No. 474/Bill 148 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill 148, reports as follows: <br />Bill 148, transmitted by Director of Finance Nancy Crawford via Communication No. 474, dated <br />November 22, 2011, amends Ordinance No. 11 -60, as amended, relating to public improvements <br />and financing thereof for the fiscal year July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2012, by adding the following <br />project: <br />PUBLIC WORKS: <br />Parking Assessment Islandwide <br />(110.399.5399.78) <br />Funds for this appropriation increase shall be provided from: <br />General Obligation Bonds, Capital Projects Fund — <br />Fund Balance and/or other Sources <br />$500,000 <br />$500,000 <br />This proposed Bill adds the Parking Assessment Island -wide project for $500,000 to the Capital <br />Budget. The Department of Public Works indicates a need to address parking problems at <br />various locations in Hawai`i County including schools, parks and beach access points, and to <br />conduct studies for solutions to these problems. A reduction in traffic congestion and accidents <br />are expected with improvements in parking. <br />Pursuant to Section 10 -6(d), Hawai`i County Charter, the Council may amend the Capital Budget <br />for this fiscal year by a two - thirds vote. <br />There was no discussion on this measure. <br />FC Report No. 165 <br />
