WHEREAS, a Memorandum of Understanding (see attached) is needed between RCUH and the County of Hawai`i to accomplish and fund this study which would evaluate the effectiveness of the DAT Program through interviews, surveys of coaches, athletic directors, teachers, students and parents of schools with DAT programs, the analysis of the results and a written report on the effectiveness of DAT as a reduction tool; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 46 -7, Hawai`i Revised Statutes, this Council's consent is required for the Mayor to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that it does hereby consent to and authorize the Mayor, pursuant to Section 46 -7, Hawai`i Revised Statutes, to enter into the Memorandum of Understanding with the Research Corporation of the University of Hawaii. BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawai`i is directed to transmit copies of this resolution to (1) the Honorable William Kenoi, Mayor of the County of Hawai`i; (2) Finance Director Nancy Crawford; (3) Department of Liquor Control; and (4) RCUII c/o Alton M.
