REPORT OF THE <br /> COMMITTEE ON HUMAN SERVICES, <br /> SOCIAL SERVICES AND PUBLIC SAFETY <br /> DATE: January 31, 2012 Re: Comm.No. 533 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 10:50 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Human Services, Social Services and Public Safety, to which was referred <br /> Communication No. 533, reports as follows: <br /> Communication No. 533,transmitted by Mayor William P. Kenoi, dated January 9, 2012, nominates <br /> Mr. James"Kimo"Lee of Council District 2 to serve on the County of Hawaii Fire Commission. <br /> Chair K. Angel Pilago relinquished the chairmanship to Vice-Chair J Yoshimoto and he assumed chairmanship <br /> of the Human Services, Social Services, and Public Safety Committee. <br /> The Mayor's Executive Assistant, Charmaine Shigemura, introduced Mr. Lee, who is a lifelong resident of <br /> Hawai`i and has been employed by WH Shipman, Ltd., as the Director of Development. Mr. Lee currently <br /> serves on the State of Hawai`i Burial Council and the County of Hawai`i Workforce Investment Board. He is <br /> a member of Hospice of Hawai`i and the Catholic Church's Land Asset Committee. He states that he is not <br /> affiliated with any political party. <br /> Mr. Lee was nominated and confirmed to this position in 2010,to serve the remainder of a term that ended on <br /> December 31, 2011.
