Kingman Trust,North Kona(1 parcel) <br /> 49-11 Kahuku Coastal Property, Ka`u <br /> 71-11 Pohoiki Bay, Puna <br /> As you are aware, the County has successfully completed five acquisitions totaling <br /> 949.193 acres with funds from the Public Access, Open Space and Natural Resources <br /> Preservation Fund (FUND). In addition, a total of$4,166,750.00 was obtained from state and <br /> federal grants towards these completed acquisitions. <br /> • The first purchase was completed in October 2007 for approximately 1.8 acres, Tax <br /> Map Key (TMK): (3) 4-8-04:06 at the gateway into Waipi`o Valley also referred to as <br /> the "Rice Property" at a purchase price of$900,000.00. <br /> • The second purchase was completed in January 2008 and involved one of four parcels <br /> (TMK: (3) 9-5-17:07) authorized by the County Council containing 234 acres at <br /> Kawa, Ka`u, Hawai`i for a purchase price of$1,920,000.00. The County was able to <br /> supplement the sale with a$1,214,750.00 grant from the State of Hawai`i, Department <br /> of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR), Legacy Land Conservation Program (LLCP). <br /> • The third purchase was finalized in January 2010 for four parcels (TMK's: (3) 5-8- <br /> 01:11, 19, 20 & 24) in Kaiholena, North Kohala totaling 151 acres for $6,541,680.00. <br /> • The fourth purchase, second acquisition for 2010, was completed in October for 10.61 <br /> acres of coastal land in Pa`o`o, North Kohala. The purchase price was for <br /> $1,890,000.00 and partially funded by a$945,000.00 grant from the State, DLNR <br /> LLCP thanks to the efforts and assistance from The Trust for Public Lands (TPL). <br /> • The fifth purchase finalized in November 2011, was for the three remaining parcels <br /> of land in Kawa, Ka`u(TMK's: (3) 9-5-16:06 & 25; 9-5-17:05)totaling 550.871 acres. <br /> The County, with the assistance of TPL, obtained $1,500,000.00 from the State, DLNR <br /> LLCP along with $507,000.00 from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife, Recovery Land <br /> Acquisition Grant towards the purchase price of$3,900,000.00. <br /> County of Hawaii is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer <br />
