No. 581/Bill No. 188 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hawai`i County Building <br /> 25 Aupuni Street <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 1:40 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation, to which was referred Bill 188, <br /> reports as follows: <br /> Bill 188, amends Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 6, Section 24-287, Schedule 35 <br /> (Passenger loading zones), subsection(f), Kona, by adding two new items and <br /> renumbered as required: "( ) Ka`ahumanu Place, north side, first marked diagonal stall, <br /> one hundred twenty-two feet west of Ali`i Drive, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m." and <br /> "f ) Ka`ahumanu Place, south side, one hundred twenty feet west of Ali`i Drive and <br /> extending fifty six feet in the easterly direction, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. everyday." <br /> These amendments are necessary to shorten the times the loading zones are in effect to <br /> allow the zones to be used as parking outside of the specified time. <br /> There was some concern expressed by Committee Members that the new signs be very <br /> clear in explaining the prohibitions determined by time, to mitigate any confusion on the <br /> part of the driving public. <br /> Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation is in accord with the purpose and <br /> intent of Bill 188, and recommends its passage on first reading. <br /> bl <br /> AYES NOES A&E EX Respectfully submitted, <br /> BLAS X <br /> FORD x COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC WORKS & <br /> HOFFMANN x PARKS AND RECREATION <br /> IKEDA X <br /> ONISHI X <br /> PILAGO X <br /> SMART X FRED BLAS, CHAIR <br /> YAGONG X PWPRC REPORT NO. 75 <br /> YOSHIMOTO X ADOPTED: MAR 2 1 2012 <br />
