AGRICULTURE AND RURAL AFFAIRS STEERING COMMITTEE <br /> RESOLUTION ON DOD MATCHING FUNDS FOR CONSERVATION <br /> EASEMENT PROGRAMS <br /> Issue: Restoring the ability of federal conservation easement programs to accept <br /> Department of Defense (DOD) matching funds. <br /> Adopted Policy: NACo supports reauthorization of a 2012 Farm Bill that specifically <br /> authorizes the use of Department of Defense funds as match or cost share for all federal <br /> conservation easement programs and restores the ability of the Natural Resources <br /> Conservation Service (NRCS) to accept DOD matching funds. <br /> AGRICULTURE AND RURAL AFFAIRS STEERING COMMITTEE <br /> ADOPTED RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF THE LOCAL FARMS, FOOD, AND <br /> JOBS ACT <br /> Issue: Support of local and regional farm and food systems. <br /> Adopted Policy: NACo supports the Local Farms, Food and Jobs Act (S.1773 and H.R. <br /> 3286). <br /> AGRICULTURE AND RURAL AFFAIRS STEERING COMMITTEE <br /> ADOPTED RESOLUTION ON FARM BILL PROGRAMS SUPPORTING <br /> LOCAL FOOD SYSTEMS <br /> Issue: Supporting local food systems <br /> Adopted Policy: NACo supports changes to the Farm Bill which would support county <br /> development and expansion of local food systems by allowing schools the option to use a <br /> portion of their USDA Agriculture Marketing Service (AMS) school lunch commodity <br /> dollars for the purchase of local and regional foods and securing support for the <br /> infrastructure necessary for local and regional food systems to thrive. <br />
