HEALTH STEERING COMMITTEE <br /> ADOPTED RESOLUTION ON RESPONDING TO THE BEHAVIORAL <br /> HEALTH NEEDS OF OUR RETURNING VETERANS <br /> Issue: Behavioral health needs of returning veterans <br /> Adopted Policy: NACo will undertake steps to assure that: <br /> 1. VA funds are made available to reimburse counties for the services provided to <br /> veterans eligible for VA services and for services provided to veterans awaiting <br /> determination of eligibility. <br /> 2. VA funds are made available to reimburse services provided to veterans eligible <br /> for VA services by public and private providers under contract with the VA. <br /> 3. DOD funds are made available to reimburse counties for the services provided to <br /> veterans eligible for DOD services. <br /> 4. Appropriate county level data are available so that counties know how many <br /> veterans are returning to their local areas. <br /> 5. Appropriate legislation and guidance from the Administration are available to <br /> correct gaps and deficiencies in the DOD and VA service delivery systems. <br /> HEALTH STEERING COMMITTEE <br /> ADOPTED RESOLUTION ON FUNDING FOR COMMUNITY HEALTH <br /> ASSESSMENTS <br /> Issue: Funding for community health assessments <br /> Adopted Policy: NACo supports funding county community health assessments from <br /> the Prevention and Public Health Fund. <br />
