These funds are to provide up to <br /> $100,000 to each of the three State of Hawaii Department of Education school <br /> complexes in the County of Hawaii, for a total of up to $300,000. These funds will be <br /> used in order to develop and implement a strategy for schools across the Island to <br /> decrease the consumption of alcohol by youth. <br /> Enclosed is a Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the State <br /> of Hawaii Department of Education in order to implement this program. <br /> Due to the contractual need to expend these funds by June 30, 2012, the Office of <br /> Management requests that this Resolution be waived from the Finance Committee and be <br /> placed on the April 18, 2012 Council Agenda.
