No. 643/Res. 235-12 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 4:10 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution 235-12, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution 235-12, transmitted by County Clerk Jamae Kawauchi via Communication No. 643, <br /> dated March 14, 2012, directs the Clerk of the County of Hawaii to take necessary action to <br /> place the Charter Amendment Proposed by Ordinance No. 12-16 on the 2012 General Election <br /> B allot. <br /> Ordinance No. 12-16, proposes an amendment to the Hawaii County Charter to add a new <br /> section relating to a public access, open space, and natural resources preservation maintenance <br /> fund. <br /> Pursuant to Section 15-2, Hawaii County Charter, provides in part: "Upon adoption of an <br /> ordinance proposing amendments or revisions of this charter, or upon determination that a <br /> petition for proposed amendments or revisions of this charter contains the required number of <br /> signatures, the council shall by resolution provide that the proposed amendments or revisions be <br /> submitted to the electors of the county for approval at the next general election." <br /> There was no discussion on this measure. <br /> Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution 235-12, and <br /> recommends its adoption. <br /> dkr <br /> AYES NOES A&E EX Respectfully submitted, <br /> BLAS X <br /> FORD X COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br /> HOFFMANN X <br /> IKEDA X <br /> ONISHI X <br /> PILAGO X <br /> SMART X BRENDA FORD, CHAIR <br /> YAGONG X FC REPORT NO. 211 <br /> YOSHIMOTO X ADOPTED: APR 1 7 2012 <br />
