COUNT' OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII BILL NO. 189 ORDINANCE NO. _j2 s2 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, ARTICLE 8, DIVISION 1, SECTION 24-197 OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO PARKING, STANDING, AND STOPPING. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE C'OU1�1TY OF HAWAII: SECTION 1. The purpose of this measure is to allow more flexibility with when parkin] is prohibited during certain hours zones are in effect. SECTION 2. Chapter 24, Article 8, Division 1, Section 24-197, Parking prohibited during certain hours, subsection (a) of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), is amended to read as follows: (a) When official signs are erected giving notice thereof, no person shall stop, stand or part; vehicle any longer than is reasonably necessary to take on or discharge passengers or freight, upon any of the streets or portions thereof within the County, between the hours, indicated on such signs, of any day, except Sundays and public holidays or as otherwise listed in Schedule 29, Section 24-281. SECTION 3. Material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New material is underscored. In printing this ordinance, the brackets, bracketed and stricken material and underscoring need not b:� included. SECTION 4. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance, or the application thereof o any person or circumstance, is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application. and to this end, the provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable.
