COUNT' OF HAWAII <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />BILL NO. 189 <br />ORDINANCE NO. _j2 s2 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, ARTICLE 8, DIVISION 1, SECTION 24-197 OF <br />THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO <br />PARKING, STANDING, AND STOPPING. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE C'OU1�1TY OF HAWAII: <br />SECTION 1. The purpose of this measure is to allow more flexibility with when parkin] <br />is prohibited during certain hours zones are in effect. <br />SECTION 2. Chapter 24, Article 8, Division 1, Section 24-197, Parking prohibited during <br />certain hours, subsection (a) of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), is amended to <br />read as follows: <br />(a) When official signs are erected giving notice thereof, no person shall stop, stand or part; <br />vehicle any longer than is reasonably necessary to take on or discharge passengers or <br />freight, upon any of the streets or portions thereof within the County, between the hours, <br />indicated on such signs, of any day, except Sundays and public holidays or as otherwise <br />listed in Schedule 29, Section 24-281. <br />SECTION 3. Material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New material is underscored. In <br />printing this ordinance, the brackets, bracketed and stricken material and underscoring need not b:� <br />included. <br />SECTION 4. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance, or the application thereof o <br />any person or circumstance, is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or <br />applications of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application. <br />and to this end, the provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. <br />
