No. 266-12 <br /> PLACE: West Hawai`i Civic Center <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawaii <br /> TIME: 11:28 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Governmental Relations, to which was referred Resolution No. 266-12, reports as <br /> follows: <br /> Resolution No. 266-12, transmitted by Council Member Pete Hoffmann, via Communication No. 741, <br /> dated May 30, 2012, directs the Clerk of the County of Hawaii to take necessary action to place the <br /> Charter amendment proposed by Ordinance No. 12-70 on the 2012 General Election ballot. <br /> Ordinance No. 12-70 proposes an amendment to the Hawaii County Charter to amend provisions <br /> relating to the County Redistricting Commission. Resolution No. 266-12 directs the Clerk to take all <br /> necessary steps provided for in all applicable provisions of the Hawai`i County Charter and the Hawai <br /> Revised Statutes, within the prescribed time limits, for placing the Charter amendment proposed by <br /> Ordinance No. 12-70 on the 2012 General Election ballot for approval by the voters of the County. <br /> Mr. Hoffmann stated that this is standard procedure that when a Charter amendment passes three <br /> readings of the Council, a resolution is brought forward to direct the Clerk to place it on the ballot. <br /> Your Committee on Governmental Relations is in accord with the purpose and intent of <br /> Resolution No. 266-12, and recommends its adoption. <br /> ke <br /> AYES NOES A&E EX Respectfully submitted, <br /> BLAS X <br /> FORD X COMMITTEE ON GOVERNMENTAL <br /> HOFFMANN X RELATIONS <br /> IKEDA X <br /> ONISHI X ®. <br /> PILAGO X <br /> SMART X K.
