c,°::- I ..,OF M1 '. <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII -•���''`: '�/�•- STATE OF HAWAII <br /> OF• � <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 264 12 <br /> (DRAFT 2) <br /> A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CHAIR OF THE COUNTY COUNCIL TO <br /> TAKE ALL NECESSARY ACTION TO ENROLL THE COUNTY INTO THE <br /> NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES PRESCRIPTION DISCOUNT CARD <br /> MARKETING FEE REIMBURSEMENT PROGRAM. <br /> WHEREAS, Hawai`i County is a member in good standing of the National Association <br /> of Counties (NACo); and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawai`i County currently participates in the NACo Prescription Discount <br /> Card Program (PDCP); and <br /> WHEREAS, the NACo PDCP offers savings of up to 24% for uninsured and <br /> underinsured County residents who pay out of pocket for their prescriptions; and <br /> WHEREAS,NACo is offering a new marketing fee reimbursement option for the <br /> Prescription Discount Card Program; and <br /> WHEREAS, under the new marketing fee reimbursement option, Hawai`i County would <br /> receive a one dollar marketing fee per prescription each time the prescription discount card is <br /> used; and <br /> WHEREAS, NACo representatives assured the County Council at the April 17, 2012, <br /> Governmental Relations Committee presentation that the marketing fee reimbursement option <br /> will not increase costs for the user of the Prescription Discount Card, nor incur any cost to <br /> Hawai`i County; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Office of Aging has many elder care and health management programs <br /> that would benefit from increased revenue as provided per the marketing fee reimbursement <br /> option; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it <br /> hereby authorizes the Chair of the County Council to take all necessary steps to enroll the <br /> County into the NACo marketing fee reimbursement option of the Prescription Discount Card <br /> Program. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Finance Department work with the Office of <br /> Aging to direct all revenue from this marketing fee program to the Office of Aging's program <br /> account as a separate line item, and all expenditures from this revenue shall be a separate line <br /> item with sub-categories identified in the budget. <br />
