COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />BILL NO. 239 <br />C <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, ARTICLE 10, DIVISION 6, SECTION 24 -287 <br />OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO <br />PASSENGER LOADING ZONES. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br />SECTION 1. The purpose of this measure is for the loading zones in the Kailua Village <br />area to have a start time and end time each day of 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. respectively. The request <br />for the amendment came from the Hawai`i Police Department and received support from the Kailua <br />Village Business Improvement District. The primary reason for the request was to open up more <br />parking along Ali`i Drive. Parking in loading zones is allowed when the loading zones are not in <br />effect. <br />SECTION 2. Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 6, Section 24 -287, Schedule 35. Passenger <br />loading zones, subsection (f)(1) of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), is amended <br />to read as follows: <br />(1 ) <br />Ali'i [d]Drive, [east]north (mauka) side, [beginning]from a point [ - <br />ine]two hundred thirty -two feet [north]west of Likana Lane and extending [ferty <br />seven]forty -six feet in the [northerly]westerly direction, [24 hours daily]7:00 a.m. to 3:00 <br />p.m. each day. <br />SECTION 3. Material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New material is underscored. In <br />printing this ordinance, the brackets, bracketed and stricken material and underscoring need not be <br />included. <br />SECTION 4. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance, or the application thereof <br />to any person or circumstance, is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or <br />
