No. 274-12 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawai <br /> TIME: 9:08 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 274-12, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 274-12, transmitted jointly with Bill No. 278, by Finance Director Nancy Crawford <br /> via Communication No. 772, dated June 28, 2012, authorizes the Mayor to enter into an agreement <br /> with the State of Hawai Department of Health, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division, in order to <br /> commence this program. <br /> The State of Hawai`i Department of Health, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division (ADAD) is providing <br /> funds for the purpose of supporting the Police Department's efforts to conduct enforcement <br /> operations of minors purchasing tobacco. The department will conduct a minimum of six <br /> enforcement operations, using plain clothes officers to observe purchase attempts by minors and to <br /> cite any retail store which makes an illegal sale to a minor.
