A RESOLUTION URGING THE GOVERNOR AND THE <br /> LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII TO PRESERVE <br /> THE COUNTIES' SHARE OF THE TRANSIENT <br /> ACCOMMODATIONS TAX. <br /> Q. The Executive Committee at its December 23, 2011 meeting, approved the <br /> following resolutions to be considered by the State House and Senate <br /> during the 2012 Legislative Session: <br /> i. Resolution requesting the State Legislature to adopt House Bill <br /> 1521 (HB 1521) relating to an amendment to Chapter 339D, <br /> Hawai`i Revised Statutes, regarding electronic waste recycling; <br /> ii. Resolution requesting that the Hawai`i State Department of <br /> Health amend Hawai`i Administrative Rules, Title 11, Chapter <br /> 62, §11-62-06, General Requirements, to establish up to a ten-year <br /> exemption period to connect to a public or private sewer system <br /> after installation of an individual wastewater system. <br /> R. The Executive Committee at its December 23, 2011 meeting, approved <br /> $2,500.00 in seed money to Hawai`i County Council to establish a <br /> checking account for the 2012 HSAC Annual Conference and to provide <br /> deposit money to secure the venue. <br /> S. The Executive Committee at its February 10, 2012 meeting, approved to <br /> sponsor a hospitality suite for Councilmember G. Riki Hokama for his <br /> candidacy as the National Association of Counties (NACo) Second Vice <br /> President. <br /> T. The Executive Committee at its March 19, 2012 meeting, approved a <br /> request to retain the services of Carbonaro DeMichelle CPA's to provide <br /> HSAC with a written opinion regarding any potential tax consequences <br /> possibly incurred by Councilmember G. Riki Hokama in receiving monies <br /> from private businesses to run for the National Association of Counties <br /> (NACo) Second Vice President and that HSAC pay that firm not more <br /> than $270.00. <br /> U. The Executive Committee at its May 25, 2012 meeting, approved the <br /> following proposed slate of officers for Fiscal Year 2012-2013, to be <br /> approved by the respective County Councils: <br /> i. HSAC <br /> 1. Mel Rapozo (Kaua`i County Council), President <br /> Jay Furfaro (Alternate) <br /> 2. K. Angel Pilago (Hawai`i County Council), Vice-President <br /> Brittany Smart (Alternate) <br /> 3. Joseph Pontanilla (Maui County Council), Treasurer <br /> G. Riki Hokama (Alternate) <br />
