No. 777 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 2:00 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Comm. No. 777, reports as follows: <br /> Communication No. 777 transmitted by Mayor Billy Kenoi, dated July 9, 2012, nominates <br /> Adam Broderson of Council District 8 to the Kailua Village Design Commission (KVDC). <br /> Mr. Broderson is a 34-year resident of Hawai`i. He is the owner of A. Broderson Landscape <br /> Company, and has been involved in landscaping in Kona since the age of four when he started <br /> going to job sites with his father, the owner of a landscaping company. <br /> Mr. Broderson states that he is not affiliated with any political party. If confirmed, he will replace <br /> Riley Saito and will serve the remainder of the succeeding three-year term which will end on <br /> December 31, 2014. <br /> County of Hawai`i Planning Program Manager Bennett Mark introduced the nominee, <br /> Mr. Broderson, who was present at the Kona Council Office. Mr. Broderson stated that he was <br /> born and raised in Kailua-Kona and understands the beauty of the area. He also stated that he is <br /> honored to serve on the KVDC. <br /> Committee Chair Hoffmann stated that he hopes Mr. Broderson's term on the KVDC is effective <br /> and worthwhile for both him and the Commission. <br /> Mr. Broderson is not required to be present before the full Council for final confirmation. <br /> PC Rept.
