Ford, Council Member
SUBJECT: Outdoor Warning Siren System Prioritization
In October 2010, the Council passed Resolution 403 -10 authorizing the County of Hawaii to
enter into an agreement with the State of Hawai `i for access, installation, and maintenance of the
Outdoor Warning Siren System. There are 36 sirens currently impacted on the list:
approximately 30 that will be added, 5 upgraded, and one deleted.
There is only one outdoor warning siren in the current Council District 7 so it will be the number
one priority in this district. Please see the attached page for the recommended priority in District
7. I understand that the State of Hawaii and the Hawai`i County Civil Defense may need to
adjust the recommended priority based on additional information.
Mahalo for your attention to this matter.
BJF/
Serving the Interests of the People of Our Island
Hawai `i County Is An Equal Opportunity Provider And Employer
