This measure was placed on the August 14, 2012 Committee agenda, however, this meeting was cancelled due to technical difficulties.) ;and From Council Member Pete Hoffmann, dated August 10, 2012, transmitting proposed amendments to Resolution 279 -12. The amendments relate to the "Be it Further Resolved" clause, and Item 2 (Video Testimony). URGES THE HAWAII STATE LEGISLATURE TO ADEQUATELY FUND BOTH THE HAWAII CAMPAIGN SPENDING COMMISSION AND A STATEWIDE COMPREHENSIVE PUBLIC FUNDING SYSTEM FOR ELECTIONS States that the State Legislature take immediate action to adequately fund the Hawai`i Campaign Spending Commission and a statewide comprehensive program upon convening the 2013 legislative session, and that the Council of the County of Hawai`i supports legislative efforts to expand comprehensive public funding throughout the state.
