This report covers FY 2011-12. YURIHAMA CITY, JAPAN— Formerly Hawaii-Cho Resolution No. 400-96, dated October 16, 1996. The supporting organization is the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Hawai'i, (JCCIH). July, 2011 —Amy Aoyagi, along with Dr. and Mrs. Tangaro and students from Hawai'i Community College (Halau Unukupukupu) went to Yurihama City's Hawaiian Festival. They delivered gifts and a letter of aloha to Mayor Miyawaki and the Governor of Tottori Prefecture from Mayor Kenoi. August, 2011 — 15 students and five adults, including Vice Mayor Senga, participated in a five-day student exchange hosted by the Japanese Chamber of Commerce, and the Hilo High School Builders Club. The County of Hawai'i provided transportation during the visit, and presented the students and adults with gifts. Attached and submitted with this report is the "2011 Aloha Friendship Aloha Mates Report," that was written by the visiting students. Comm. The supporting entity is goodwill ambassadors and liaisons, Alain and Marie Gerente. October, 2011 — President Didier Robert, Vice President Jean-Francois Sita, Communication/Public Relations Corinne Payron-Beoulieu and Communication/Media Eddy Payet from La Reunion visited Hawai'i Island along with Alain and Marie Gerente. The County hosted a luncheon and dinner, and provided transportation as well as acted as informational guides for the group. They visited NELHA, Volcanoes National Park, Waikoloa, and did a helicopter tour of Volcano. January, 2012 — Resolution 197-12 was signed on January 4, 2012, approving the establishment of a sister-city relationship between La Reunion and the County of Hawai'i, and authorizing the Mayor to enter into a formal signed agreement. June, 2012 —The agreement establishing a sister-city relationship between the County of Hawai'i and La Reunion was signed by Mayor Billy Kenoi and President Didier Robert. Mayor Billy Kenoi, Sister City Protocol Officer Charmaine Shigemura, and Goodwill Ambassadors and Liaisons Alain and Marie Gerente signed the service agreement for the purpose of maintaining and sustaining a viable and meaningful sister-city relationship between the County of Hawai'i and La Reunion. ORMOC, PHILIPPINES Resolution No. 77-11, dated June 15, 2011. The supporting organization is the Congress of Visayan Organizations — Kona Visayan Club and Hilo Visayan Club (COVO). September, 2011 —The agreement establishing a sister-city relationship between the County of Hawai'i and Ormoc, Philippines was signed on September 14, 2011, by Mayor Billy Kenoi and Mayor Eric Codilla. Mayor Billy Kenoi, Sister City Protocol Officer Charmaine Shigemura, and COVO signed the service agreement for the purpose of maintaining and sustaining a viable and meaningful sister-city relationship between the County of Hawai'i and Ormoc, Philippines.
