No. 832/Bill No. 300 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 4:22 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 300, reports as follows: <br /> Bill No. 300, transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford via Communication No. 832, dated <br /> August 29, 2012, amends Ordinance No. 12-86 as amended, the Operating Budget for the County of <br /> Hawaii for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2013. The amendment is as follows: <br /> From: <br /> 010.3308.17 Federal Grants Aggressive Driving General $ 11,112 <br /> Project <br /> To: <br /> 010.201.5216.30 Aggressive Driving Project General $ 11,112 <br /> The State Department of Transportation Public Affairs— Safe Community Program is providing an <br /> additional funding of$11,112 to the Hawaii County Police Department's Aggressive Driving <br /> project. Funds will be used to allow the Police Department to purchase Speed Detection Radar <br /> Units. In the current fiscal year's budget, $37,000 was appropriated in anticipation of this grant. <br /> The bill amends the Operating Budget by appropriating the additional funds into the Aggressive <br /> Driving project account and bringing the total grant appropriation to $48,112. <br /> Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, County departments must obtain the consent of <br /> the Council to enter into agreements with the Federal or State governments respecting action to be <br /> taken pursuant to any powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other <br /> assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers. <br /> There was no discussion on this measure. <br /> FC Report No. 256 <br />
