The amendment is as follows:
From:
010.3303.34 Federal Grants—HCPD Clickit or General $ 3,435
Ticket
To:
010.201.5216.12 HCPD Clickit or Ticket General $ 3,435
The State Department of Transportation Public Affairs— Safe Community Program is providing an
additional funding of$3,435 to the Hawai`i County Police Department's Clickit or Ticket program.
The grant funds will be used to allow the Hawaii County Police Department to finance the
expanding of two volleyball tournaments. In the current fiscal year's budget, $15,500 was
appropriated in anticipation of this grant.
The bill amends the Operating Budget by appropriating the additional funds into the Click It or
Ticket program account and bringing the total grant appropriation to $18,935.
Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, County departments must obtain the consent of
the Council to enter into agreements with the Federal or State governments respecting action to be
taken pursuant to any powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other
assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers.
Council Member Dennis Onishi commented that HCPD Click It or Ticket normally funded
basketball tournaments. He fully supports the Police Department funding to now include both
basketball and volleyball tournaments.
FC Report No. 258
