COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />BILL NO. 330 <br />(DRAFT 2 ) <br />ORDINANCE NO. 12 106 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24 OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 <br />(2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br />SECTION 1. Purpose. The purpose of this ordinance is to reduce the speed limit in a <br />residential area, wherein the road is narrow and winding and there are little or no shoulders on <br />either side of the road, thereby promoting public safety. <br />SECTION 2. Chapter 24, article 10, division 1, section 24 -255, schedule 3 <br />(25 mile per hour limit), paragraph (c), South Hilo, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 <br />Edition, as amended), is amended by adding the following, to be appropriately numbered and to <br />read as follows: <br />"( ) Waianuenue Avenue, from Akolea Road to its terminus at the southern <br />terminus of Bridge 25 -2." <br />SECTION 3. New material is underscored. In printing this ordinance, the underscoring <br />need not be included. <br />SECTION 4. If any provision of this ordinance, or the application thereof to any person <br />or circumstance, is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications <br />of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to <br />this end, the provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. <br />SECTION 5.
