COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII BILL NO. 330 (DRAFT 2 ) ORDINANCE NO. 12 106 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24 OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: SECTION 1. Purpose. The purpose of this ordinance is to reduce the speed limit in a residential area, wherein the road is narrow and winding and there are little or no shoulders on either side of the road, thereby promoting public safety. SECTION 2. Chapter 24, article 10, division 1, section 24 -255, schedule 3 (25 mile per hour limit), paragraph (c), South Hilo, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), is amended by adding the following, to be appropriately numbered and to read as follows: "( ) Waianuenue Avenue, from Akolea Road to its terminus at the southern terminus of Bridge 25 -2." SECTION 3. New material is underscored. In printing this ordinance, the underscoring need not be included. SECTION 4. If any provision of this ordinance, or the application thereof to any person or circumstance, is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end, the provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. SECTION 5. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
