No. 873/Res. 313-12 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 1:00 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Resolution No. 313-12, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 313-12, delays Council action on Upzoning the Pahoa Village Regional Town <br /> Center planning area until Phase I of the Pahoa Regional Town Center plan is adopted by <br /> ordinance, or until June 30, 2013, whichever shall occur first. <br /> The Pahoa Regional Town Center Plan Steering Committee and the Puna Community <br /> Development Plan Action Committee requested that any new up-zoning in this area be delayed <br /> to allow the community through a legitimate, deliberate, and inclusive community-based <br /> planning process to define how best to solve existing problems, to allocate space for new growth, <br /> and to preserve its historical heritage. <br /> For informational purposes this item was reported out to Council with a favorable <br /> recommendation on October 16, 2012 via PC-68.
