The amendment <br /> is as follows: <br /> From: <br /> 010.3308.99 Federal Grants—USDA Rural General $ 35,200 <br /> Development Grant <br /> To: <br /> 010.221.5228.21 USDA Rural Development Grant General $ 35,200 <br /> The United States Department of Agriculture, Rural Development (USDA) is providing a grant to the <br /> Hawai`i Fire Department to be used by its Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Bureau, for the purchase <br /> of desktop and laptop computer equipment. These funds will allow the department's EMS Bureau to <br /> update current desktop and laptop computers which are now obsolete. <br /> Battalion Chief Lance Uchida, from the Fire Department, appeared before Your Committee for <br /> questions. <br /> There was no discussion on this measure. <br /> Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawai`i Revised Statutes, County departments must obtain the consent of the <br /> Council to enter into agreements with the Federal or State governments respecting action to be taken <br /> pursuant to any powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance <br /> connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers. <br /> FC Report No. 22 <br />
