No. 67/Bill No. 21 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 1:01 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council. <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Bill No. 21, reports as follows: <br /> Bill No. 21, from Mayor William P. Kenoi, via Communication No. 67 dated December 14, <br /> 2012, amends,Ordinance No. 05-157, which amended Ordinance No. 95-51, which amended <br /> Ordinance No. 90-160, which reclassified lands from Agricultural 5-acre (A-5a) (formerly <br /> Unplanned)and Multiple Family Residential— 1,500 square feet(RM-1.5) to Residential— <br /> Agricultural 1 acre (RA-la) and Open(0)districts at Waikoloa, South Kohala, Hawai`i, covered <br /> by tax map key 6-8-002: portion of 016 (applicant: Waikoloa Mauka, LLC) (Area: apprx. 761 <br /> acres). <br /> Mayor William P. Kenoi is transmitting the above bill and enclosures, with a favorable <br /> recommendation from the Leeward Planning Commission. The applicant is requesting a time <br /> extension to comply with Condition B (secure final subdivision approval). <br /> Mr. Sidney Fuke, representing the applicant Waikoloa Mauka, LLC, stated that this request <br /> amends the 5-year completion requirement in Condition(B)to 10 years for final subdivision <br /> approval. <br /> Committee members expressed concern with the lack of parks and multi-modal facilities for a <br /> development with 468 houses.
